Rosedale is a third generation farming operation in Robertson which started in 1952 when the late ‘Oupa’ Hans Britz bought 43 hectares of land to plant vineyards and peaches. His son Jannie Britz joined him in 1973 and added tomatoes to the harvest ‘basket’. Plums (Laetitia and Casselman) followed in 1990, with apricots, citrus and more plum varieties being added not long after. They expanded by building their own packstore.
Eldest son Hannes was the first of the three Britz brothers to join his father on the farm in 2000. With much growth taking place, expansion was on the horizon and 2003 saw Jannie adding a second farm to the family operation – this time in Bonnievale (Bordeaux).Read more...
